11" (28 cm.) x 8". The hardbound volumes, each comprising one year of the monthly publication, have marbled-paper covers with gilt lettering on the spine, and contain a number of illustrations, both monochrome and polychromed, of fashions of the year; some illustrations include dolls in fashionable attire. Contents appear complete and are excellent, some wear to bindings. Journal des Desmoiselles was published in Paris at 48 Rue Vivienne, and this set covers the complete decade of the 1880s including material on the 1889 International Exposition of Paris.
