11" (28 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, plumply-modeled cheeks, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, mauve-blushed eyeshadow, painted lashes, brushstroked feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid bebe body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees, bisque forearms. Condition: generally excellent, tiniest pinflake on pierced ear hole, body especially sturdy with perfect hands. Marks: A 2 T. Comments: Andre Thuillier, Paris, circa 1880, earliest version of his bebe. Value Points: very rare doll especially in this petite size, with original body and beautiful bisque hands, finest bisque and painting of features, original silk costume (some frailty), bonnet, undergarments, socks, and leather shoes marked "Paris".
