22" (56 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head with flat-cut neck socket, blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, pale rose eye shadow, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, slightly-parted outlined lips, two rows of tiny porcelain teeth, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, carton torso with internal mechanism, composition arms and legs. Condition: generally excellent, mechanism functions well. Comments: Jules Steiner, "Bebe Gigoteur", circa 1880, when key-wound, and lever released the doll waves its arms and legs in baby-like manner and cries "mama". Value Points: beautiful bisque and painting, with original Paris boutique label of Aux Enfants Sage on front torso.
