18" (46 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate with modeled bosom and shoulderblades, amber brown glass paperweight inset eyes, thick black eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve-blushed eye shadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with well-defined tongue tip between the outlined shaded lips, impressed dimple at philtrum and chin, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, slender kid bebe body with Chevrot-era hinged legs, wooden lower legs, bisque forearms with separately-sculpted fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Bru Jne 6 (head and shoulders) (partial original Bru paper label on torso). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, Chevrot era, circa 1885. Value Points: especially beautiful doll whose captivating expression is achieved by deeply modeled features, finest bisque and painting, original body with perfect hands, antique costume (some frailness of silk), matching bonnet, undergarments, original store chemise, and wearing original leather shoes incised "Bru Jne Paris 6".
