18" (46 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head with flat-cut neck socket, blue glass inset eyes with darker blue iris rims, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve blushed eye shadow, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, slightly-parted outlined lips, two rows of tiny porcelain teeth, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig, carton torso with internal mechanism, composition arms and legs. Condition: generally excellent, mechanism functions well. Comments: Jules Steiner, an early variation of his popular Bebe Gigoteur, designed to imitate the actions and cries of young baby, circa 1875. Value Points: especially beautiful example of Bebe Gigoteur in wonderful original condition, original costume.
