18" (46 cm.) Solid domed paper mache shoulderhead, painted black pate, black enamel eyes, delicately-painted lashes and brows, closed mouth, brunette hand-tied human hair wig in long braids, muslin stitch-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent, some light craquelure on shoulderplate. Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: early glass-eyed lady with prideful pose, has original wig and is wearing her original folklore costume including bead embroidered vest and ribbon-tied pearls.
