Description
Of crisp silk with interwoven white threads, the ensemble features a double-box-pleated skirt with fitted lower bodice, and is accented by panels of black fine lace and ribbon banding. With matching jacket fully-lined with sateen muslin and having similar lace and ribbon trim, and with six ball-shaped silk covered buttons. Also included is a hoop. The interior waistband is stamped "Huret a Paris" and the ensemble is preserved in its original wooden box stamped "Maison Huret No 22 Boulevard Montmartre Paris" on the inside lid. Excellent condition. French, from the boutique of Adelaide Huret, circa 1860.
