Description
21" (53 cm.) Poured wax shoulder head with very plump face, cobalt blue glass inset eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line, rooted blonde mohair wig, softly-stuffed muslin body, poured wax arms and legs. Condition: generally excellent, light fading of lips. Comments: English, attributed to Montanari, circa 1865. Value Points: wearing beautiful original ivory silk gown with exquisite lace trim, matching bonnet, undergarments, slippers. Ex-Stein am Rhein Museum Collection from which it was acquired by Lorna Lieberman.
