18" (46 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, almond-shaped blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, delicately painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with accented lips, upturned lip corners with impressed dimples, ears pierced into head, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at hips and elbows, shapely torso. Condition: bisque is excellent, body is appropriate, generic of the period and very sturdy. Marks: D (head and shoulders). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1872. Value Points: an especially beautiful model of the firm's smiling poupee, with original wig, lovely antique ivory silk fashion gown.
