12" (30 cm.) Amber-tinted bisque swivel head on bisque shoulderplate, large brown glass eyes, closed mouth, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, amber-tinted bisque arms, carton torso and lower legs, articulated hips, wearing lovely silk and lace dress, is attached to a wheeled peddler cart in the shape of a woven urn-shaped basket which is filled with silk flowers. When wound, the lady briskly walks along, pushing the cart as though offering flowers for sale. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Gustave Vichy, circa 1875. Value Points: rare early facial model and complexion, choice bisque, appealing presentation of the early simple, yet luxurious mechanical toy.
