18" (46 cm.) Bisque shoulderplate, heart-shaped face and elongated throat, light brown sculpted hair drawn from her face and captured in an arranged chignon at the back with curls tumbling onto her back neck and and a gilt-edged black hair band with pink bow, blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, accented nostrils and eye corners, delicately brows and lashes, closed mouth with center accent line, pierced ears, magenta and blue painted detail of bodice with Dresden ribbon ruffle and rose bud, muslin stitch-jointed body, kid arms. Condition: generally excellent excepting some missing Dresden ruffles. Comments: Germany, circa 1870, the doll was featured in the book China, Parian and Bisque German Dolls by Lydia Richter. Value Points: very rare model with exquisite presence, glass eyes, and wearing superb antique gown.
