Description
4" (10 cm.) The barrel-shaped necessaire has alternating bands of tortoise shell and mother-of-pearl, framed by narrow gilt bands and spiral rope gilt garlands, having cast bronze petal-shaped feet and bail handle. The necessaire opens to mauve-silk lined interior fitted with repousse silver plated scissors, needle case, awl, pick, and thimble. Excellent condition. French, circa 1865.
