10" (25 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead with black sculpted long finger curls, painted large brown eyes, painted lashes and brows, tiny closed mouth, slender kid body, wooden limbs, painted yellow shoes, original textured cotton gown, undergarments, bonnet. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1850, for the English market, the doll is posed upon original paper-covered wooden stand with woven market basket which contains an abundance of tiny wares including peg-wooden dolls, beading, lace, needlework sampler "Learn", stockings, buttons, comb, and much more. Value Points: remarkable fine original state of preservation with wonderful wares.
