Description
24" (61 cm.) x 27". Oil painting on canvas in impressionistic manner depicts two young girls with a doll, one girl seated backward on floor, her face not visible, with long flowing curls and clothes, gazing up at the older girl seated on a chair, nearby a table with pitcher and bowl, holding her doll and appearing as though she is feeding the doll. The painting is signed B. Sterner. Late 1800s. Excellent appearance, albeit the canvas has been cut from original boards and mounted on later backing, set in frame with original bronze-toned finish. A pleasing childhood scene is artistically rendered.
