22" (56 cm.) h. x 16"w. x 7"d. Of finest woods with various fruit wood inlays, the double door cabinet opens to reveal an elaborate interior comprising 14 different drawers of various sizes, and an inset decorative niche behind which is a door opening to a hidden compartment. The intricate use of woods, veneers and cast bronze trim indicates original production as a cabinetmaker's maitrise model. Excellent condition. Early 1800s.
