17" (43 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead of lady with oval face and elongated strong throat, black sculpted hair drawn in little curls above her ears and formed into a very long braid which is coiled the back of her head and formed into a coronet at the crown, three deeply-shaped finger curls are on each side of face, painted brown eyes, single stroke brows, arched brows, closed mouth with gentle smile, slender kid body with wooden lower limbs, painted shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: rare coiffure with elaborately coiled braids and unusual deeply sculpted curls at each side of forehead, rare brown eyes, fine original costume.
