18" (46 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head with very plump cheeks and chin, pear-shaped face, almond-shaped blue glass enamel eyes with spiral threading, thick black eyeliner, delicately-painted lashes, mauve-blushed eye shadow, lightly-feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with defined space between the shaded and outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists and flat-cut derriere, charming antique costume and fancy bonnet, undergarments, stockings, leather shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Sch (in shield mark) 3 (head) Sch (shield mark on derriere). Comments: Schmitt et Fils, circa 1880. Value Points: very fine quality of sculpting including dimpled chin, philtrum, expressive lips, pointy nose, enhanced by gorgeous painting of facial features and blush, original body and body finish.
