Description
16" (41 cm.) Bisque socket head, tiny blue glass inset eyes with spiral threading and darker blue outer rims, painted curly lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with wistful expression, outlined lips, brunette mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: XI. Comments: Kestner, circa 1882. Value Points: very delicate bisque enhances the gentle wistful expression, original body and body finish, and wearing wonderful antique mariner costume.
