15" (38 cm.) Bisque socket head, tiny blue glass sleep eyes, fringed upper curly lashes, one-stroke brows, tiny nose, closed mouth modeled as though open with shaded lips, smiling impish expression, laughter crinkles around the eyes, brunette mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1428 6. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1912. Value Points: especially fine modeling on the rare expressive character, fine quality of bisque, original body and body finish, great antique costume, along with German mohair amber-eyed pup by Steiff.
