Bisque socket head of slender-faced older child, distinctive square-shaped jaw, painted blue upper-glancing eyes with heavy eyelids enhanced by thick black liner, lightly-feathered brows, accented eye corners and nostrils, closed mouth with slightly-downcast lips, blonde mohair wig, Sonneberg composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: A 4 M Made in Germany. Comments: Marseille, circa 1910. Value Points: rare character whose distinctive character is achieved not only by facial shape but by unique painting of eye expression, the doll is wearing all-original Scottish costume with accessories.
