19" (48 cm.) All-cloth doll with egg-shaped head, flat-dimensional face, oil-painted facial features and hair, painted brown eyes with shaded details and brown outline, single stroke brows, rounded nose, closed mouth with well-shaped lips, brown swirled painted curls, stitch-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, oil-painted lower arms and legs, bare feet. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Columbian Doll Emma E. Adams Oswego Centre N.Y. (stamp on torso). Comments: Emma Adams, her doll presented at the Columbian Exposition of 1892. Value Points: especially fine painting of facial features and hair, original blue cotton dress, pinafore, bonnet, undergarments, shoes and socks. The doll bears two blue ribbon awards from UFDC national conventions.
