Description
14" (36 cm.) Paper-mache head depicting an older child with wide beaming smile, rosy complexion, blue painted upper-glancing eyes, black upper eyeliner, blushed cheeks, brunette mohair wig, carton torso and arms with expressively posed hands, hinged hips, one-piece legs. When wound, the doll sways back and forth and turns her head side to side as though rocking the little doll she holds in her arms. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: R.D. (key). Comments: Tata, designed by French artist Poulbot for Roullet et Decamps, circa 1910. Value Points: fine original painting of the cheery-faced child, with original costume, charming movement.
