Description
16" (41 cm.) All-cloth doll with pressed and painted facial features, blue painted eyes with white eyedots, rosy cheeks, closed mouth with pink accented lower lip, blonde mohair wig, muslin stitch-jointed arms and legs. She is wearing original red cotton flower-patterned dress, cotton ruffled trim, organdy slip, pantalets with ruffled ankles, socks, black front-snap shoes and wide-brimmed bonnet with floral cluster and red streamers. Near mint condition, Madame Alexander, 1933, the doll depicts the storybook character, Little Nell, from Charles Dickens book, The Old Curiosity Shop, and is presented in original labeled "baby face" box, the costume and complexion especially vibrant.
