Description
16" (41 cm.) All-cloth doll with pressed and painted facial features, large brown eyes with white eyedots, rosy cheeks, closed mouth with pink accented lower lip, blonde mohair wig, muslin stitch-jointed arms and legs. She is wearing original blue cotton dress printed with daisies and blue petaled flowers, organdy ruffled collar and cuffs, organdy slip, pantalets with ruffled ankles, socks, black front-snap shoes and wide-brimmed bonnet with floral cluster and orange streamers. The dress has original cloth tag "Little Nell/Madame Alexander/New York". Near mint condition, slight fading at dress center. Madame Alexander, 1933, the doll depicts the storybook character, Little Nell, from Charles Dickens book, The Old Curiosity Shop.
