Description
16" (41 cm.) All-cloth doll with pressed and painted facial features, large brown side-glancing eyes with white eyedots, rosy cheeks, closed mouth, blonde mohair wig, muslin stitch-jointed arms and legs. She is wearing original pink patterned cotton dress, organdy ruffled collar and cuffs, organdy slip, pantalets with ankle ruffles, socks, black front-snap shoes and wide-brimmed bonnet with floral cluster and pink streamers. The dress has original cloth tag "Little Nell/Madame Alexander/New York". Near mint condition. Madame Alexander, 1933, the doll depicts the storybook character, Little Nell, from Charles Dickens book, The Old Curiosity Shop, and is presented in original "baby face" box and with octagon gilt paper label.
