28" (71 cm.) Bisque socket head, elongated oval-shaped face, blue glass sleep eyes, painted lower lashes, incised upper eyeliner, brushstroked brows with some modeling detail, shaded nostrils, closed mouth in smiling expression, row of sculpted teeth, impressed dimples at lip corners, cheeks and center of bottom lip, brunette human hair in upswept manner, composition and wooden ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 1388 Germany Simon & Halbig S&H 12. Comments: Simon & Halbig, circa 1910. Value Points: finest quality of sculpting, bisque, complexion and painting of features on the very rare largest size of the 1388, with impressed dimples which enhance the smiling expression, original body and body finish, wonderful antique costume.
