16" (41 cm.) Honey-toned poured wax shoulderhead of adult woman with black bead eyes, slender face, elongated throat, modeled bosom, on padded and cloth wrapped armature form with attached cast metal stand, wax hands, dark brunette long mohair wig. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1915, from an exhibition of dolls created and presented to illustrate the splendor and artistry of French couture. Value Points: the doll is wearing original attached high-waisted gown of alternating bands of fine muslin and patterned twill, with lace draped collar which extends down the complete front of gown, black loosely woven shawl with fringe, white bead necklace, floral accents, fancy silk bonnet with silk ribbon, woven purse. With original ink-script paper tag "Epoque 1e Empire 1803".
