16" (41 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, lightly-feathered brows, rose-blushed eyeshadow, shaded nostrils, closed mouth, double chin and plump cheeks, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid bebe body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees, bisque forearms and hands. Condition: bisque excellent, some patching on kid body, left hand fingers repaired. Marks: (illegible size number at back of head). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, the rare earliest period bebe by that firm, circa 1877, with original body. Value Points: very sweet expression with lovely soft blush on eyelids and cheeks contrasting the rich brown eyes, wearing antique costume and elaborate white kid skin high-buckle shoes, and presented in early wooden presentation box with (later) muslin dress and undergarments.
