Description
29" (74 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, delicate pale complexion, brilliant blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, richly painted lashes, mauve blushed eye shadow, delicately brushstroked brows, richly shaded nostrils, accented eye corners, closed mouth with shaded fulsome lips, separately-modeled pierced ears, original blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at hips, knees and elbows, wearing fine antique gown. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Pierre-François Jumeau, circa 1870, the grand size and deluxe quality of bisque and painting suggest the doll was originally created as an exhibition model. Value Points: the fine sculpting of the portrait like features are further enhanced by finest quality of bisque, delicate complexion, and superb painting of features.
