Description
18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head with very pale bisque, almond-shaped blue glass inset eyes with spiral threading, very thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve-blushed eye shadow, arched feathered brows, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined pale lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent, body is original except lower legs which are Jumeau 1889 era. Marks: 9. Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1880, his first period portrait bebe. Value Points: very beautiful doll with dramatic eyes and eye decoration that contrast the delicate pale bisque, wearing antique blue silk dress with lace trim, and with matching wooden-handled blue parasol, undergarments, socks, shoes, and woven bonnet with blue ribbons.
