13" (33 cm.) Of black painted oilcloth, with bedpost-shaped head, painted features including wide-apart googly eyes, very wide smiling lip line, attached tiny braids with red ribbon ties, stitch-jointed arms with stylized hands. Condition: very good, light craquelure of original painted finish. Marks: "Topsy, A Georgene Averill Creation, Sold Distributor George Borgfeldt" (original paper label). Comments: designed by the American artist Averill under commission by Borgfeldt. Value Points: rare to find American cloth with original costume and original paper tag.
