Pressed bisque socket head with elongated facial modeling and full cheeks, large brown glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve blushed eye shadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the shaded and outlined lips, separately-modeled pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists, pretty silk dress and bonnet, undergarments, stockings and shoes. Condition: generally excellent, original body and body finish. Marks: 12 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, his luxury model bebe sculpted by French artist, Carriere-Belleuse, known as Bebe Triste in reference to its beguiling wistful expression, circa 1885. Value Points: especially lovely bisque and painting enhance the fine modeling of the sought-after bebe.
