Description
16" (41 cm.) Each is stockinette with stitch-shaped face having highly-expressive features and complexion, painted blue/brown eyes, white eyedots, fringed brows with grey shading, blushed cheeks and nose tip, closed mouth with hint of smile, white mohair wig. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Bernard Ravca, the French doll artist of the 1920s/1940s who later immigrated to America becoming an American citizen; noted for his apt depictions of villagers from his native French seaside towns. Value Points: an especially fine example of the artist's work and wonderfully-preserved, each wearing its artist-made original costume.
