Description
5" (13 cm.) Each has bisque shoulderhead with sculpted hair and painted facial features, muslin body, bisque lower limbs. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1890. Value Points: the dolls, including gentleman with moustache, brown haired gentleman, three blonde haired women, older grey haired women, and bald older gentleman as priest, each wearing their factory original costumes. Provenance: originally owned by child Gertrude Howard, a gift from her Boston parents, and passed along in the family through three generations until this time; the Howard family traces its origins to the earliest Massachusetts Bay Colony of the 17th century.
