Porcelain shoulderhead with rounded plump face, cobalt blue enamel eyes, painted curly lashes, lightly feathered arched brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with extended center line, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at hips. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1860. Value Points: brilliant eyes and subtle cheek blushing enhance the pale complexion of the early doll, very sturdy original kid body, outstanding original taffeta costume of bronze green with brown soutache embroidery, with white underblouse, undergarments, woven cap, stockings, and shoes and with tiny brooch with portrait image of lady.
