26" (66 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, rare articulation designed to allow the head to tilt forward and side to side, as well as standard swivel, blue glass inset eyes, dark painted eyeliner, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, rose-blushed eye shadow, delicate cheek and chin blush, ears pierced into head, blonde mohair wig over original kid-covered cork pate, French kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at elbows, hips and knees, stitched and separated fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French, circa 1866, the doll has the unique 1866 deposed neck articulation of August Dehors allowing a realistic movement of the head. Value Points: rare doll, virtually unknown in this size, is especially beautiful with finest bisque and painting, fine antique costume and bonnet.
