14" (36 cm.) Bisque socket head with chubby well-defined facial features, small blue glass sleep eyes, dark eyeliner, painted curly lashes, short feathered brows, accented nostrils of rounded nose, closed mouth modeled as though open with shaded lips and two upper beaded teeth, brunette mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed toddler body with side-hip jointing, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 110 3. Comments: Adolf Wislizenus, circa 1910 from his art character series, the model was also made with painted hair and painted eyes (see #92 of this book). Value Points: the rare character boy has wonderful modeling detail of the mouth, cheek outline, and impressive double chin, perfectly suited to his chubby toddler body.
