16" (41 cm.) Bisque socket head with sharply-defined facial features, upturned rounded nose, tiny blue glass flirty eyes, painted lashes, thick comma-shaped brows with sculpting details, closed mouth with deeply-upturned smiling lips that form double dimples at each cheek edge, impressed dimple at philtrum, reddish brown mohair wig with topknot and side curls, composition and wooden fully-jointed unique body with sculpted brown shoes and white socks, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, wig pulls at back of head, chip to left thumb. Comments: Kammer and Reinhardt, circa 1913, the uniquely modeled urchin, model 124, represents the popular mischievous character Moritz, originally created by the German author Wilhelm Busch in the mid-19th century, and later immortalized for the American market in the comic strip "The Katzenjammer Kids". Value Points: rare model with compelling mischievous expression, well-functioning flirty eyes, original body made for this model only.
