24" (61 cm.) Bisque socket head with elongated very full cheeks, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve-blushed eyeshadow, feathered brows, shaded nostrils, accented eye corners, closed mouth with heart-shaped upper lip, separately-modeled pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists, lovely antique costume including French leather shoes and luxurious ivory satin bonnet. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 9/EJ. Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1882. Value Points: rare early model of Jumeau's first signature doll, especially rare in this size, with original body, original wig, and very choice bisque.
