Description
4" (10 cm.) Firmly-stuffed seated pup with cream mohair cover having green tinted accents, swivel head, stitched-down ears, large amber brown glass eyes, black embroidered nose tip and mouth, tail, with gilt bell, and having original paper label "Molly Steiff-Original". In good condition, with some mohair thinning. "Molly", the pup, was Steiff's second most long-lived success story, just next to the teddy bear. Introduced in 1926, it remained in their inventory until the 1950s offered in a myriad of colors and sizes. This example, in green color accents, is a very rare example. Germany, Steiff, circa 1930.
