11" (28 cm.) All-wooden doll with bedpost-shaped head, simplistically painted black hair and facial features, painted complexion, jointing at shoulders, elbows and hips, painted flat black shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1890. Value Points: the doll wears her original black silk and velvet gown with beading detail, undergarments, reticule. Attached is an old note indicating the doll was once in the esteemed early collection of Estelle Winthrop.
