18" (46 cm.) Of brown-tipped mohair with swivel head, long snout nose with brown embroidered nose tip, stitched ears, disc-jointing at shoulders and hips, felt paw pads, and having pleated neck ruffle and matching felt clown hat with pale purple pom-poms. With original Steiff underscore button in ear. Very good condition, mohair very worn on nose, one paw pad quite worn. Germany, Steiff, circa 1928, the bear was particularly designed to appeal to the American market, and was patented in the US in 1928. A very rare and charming bear with entrancing gaze of large blue eyes.
