24" (61 cm.) Bisque socket head, large brown glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose blushed eye shadow, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with daintily accented lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent, original body and body finish. Marks: F. 10 G. Comments: Gaultier, circa 1880, early period bebe with block letter markings. Value Points: gorgeous bebe with very fine bisque and subtle painting of features dramatized by rich brown eyes, wearing very fine antique dress and undergarments, matching bonnet, stockings, shoes, and carrying silk purse with trim, and silk parasol with dog head figure at the grip.
