19" (49 cm.) Bisque socket head, painted large brown eyes with enhancing decorative glaze, thick black upper eyeliner, one-stroke tapered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with very full lips in pouting expression, brunette mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: K*R 114 49. Comments: Kammer and Reinhardt, the model marketed as "Gretchen" from their art character series, circa 1910. Value Points: fine sculpting of the wistful-faced child is enhanced by decorative glaze touches on chin and eyes, deeply defined sculpting, original wig, body, body finish. Included is woolly lamb pull toy on wheeled wooden base.
