20" (51 cm.) All-cloth doll with pressed and oil-painted facial features, light brown impasto-painted hair with curls around the forehead, painted brown eyes with shaded pupils and white eyedots, painted red eyeliner, black curly lashes, brows, accented nostrils, very full lips of closed mouth, cloth body with oil-painted lower arms and legs, sateen torso cover, stitch-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, stitch-defined fingers and separate thumb. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: (Chase logo on torso) The Chase Stockinette Doll (original paper label on back). Comments: Martha Chase, circa 1910. Value Points: superbly-preserved original complexion with rosy cheeks and well-defined features, rarer brown eyes, stitched ears, two original labels, and wearing good antique costume and accessories.
