20" (51 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass paperweight eyes, dark eyeliner, lushly-painted lashes, smoky-rose-blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils, slightly-parted outlined lips, four porcelain teeth, pierced ears, black human hair in elaborate upswept coiffure under original headdress, cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 8. Comments: Jumeau, circa 1900. Value Points: superb state of preservation of the all-original doll, likely inspired by the Japonisme movement of the early 1900s in Paris, the bebe wears royal purple robe with three-layered sleeves embellished by embroidered butterflies and flowers over rich pink silk skirt and golden silk pants, each with braid trim, along with elaborate headdress with beaded fringe and silk floral and butterfly mounts, and with stacked heel slippers.
