22" (56 cm.) Bisque socket head, amber-brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, mauve-blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with pale outlined lips, dimpled chin and philtrum, separately-modeled pierced ears, original blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent, original body and body finish with few rubs at joints. Marks: 10 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, his distinctive portrait bebe known as "triste" in reference to wistful expression, circa 1884. Value Points: beautiful brown-eyed bebe is wearing lovely antique costume comprising lace/silk dress with burgundy bows, lace frou-frou bonnet, undergarments, socks, and cream kidskin shoes signed with gilt lettering "E. Jumeau Med d'Or Paris Depose" and size "10".
