18th Century Wooden Lady Doll with Superb Carving and Expression

18" (46 cm.) All one-piece carved wooden doll, the woman nodding forward with arms outstretched and left leg posed as though about to climb a step, having elaborately carved hair in shaded brown color waved loosely from her face and captured in a layered green silk snood, painted complexion, enamel eyes with heavy eyelids, painted lashes and brows, aquiline nose, accented nostrils, very slightly parted lips with defined tongue tip and teeth, expressively posed fingers, wearing antique country costume including leather slippers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, late 18th century. Value Points: very beautiful doll with wonderfully preserved original finish, in dynamic pose to accentuate the facial expression.
