21" (53 cm.) Bisque shoulder head of lady with deeply-sculpted brown hair with loops at her forehead, crown and nape, wide wing curls at the side above her sculpted pierced ears, painted facial features, blue outlined eyes, red and black upper eyeliner, single-stroke brown brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with hint of gentle smile, sculpted blue Dresden ruffle around her throat and a scalloped-design Dresden ruffle collar that is framed by elaborately-painted designs on her bodice; the Dresden ruffles extend entirely around the back of head, old muslin stitch-jointed body, lovely antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, some body repairs. Comments: Germany, circa 1870. Value Points: extremely rare and outstanding model with superb decorations that are wonderfully preserved.
