Having a black silk crown encircled by draped black velvet banding and edged with a double row of black beads, accented by an orange feathered bird with spotted black tail features. With black silk inner lining and having original gilt lettered label of "Magnien 273 Rue St. Honore Paris". The hat is preserved in its original heavy cardstock hat box with original paper label of Magnien on the lid. 5" length. 2 1/2" inside head width. Circa 1860.
